Tamy Moyo is here with the Nasper and DJ Tamuka produced Cassanova. Tamy’s first release of 2023! The genre bending track is a fusion of Afropop and Dance Music, with a sprinkle of Amapiano in there.
Cassanova has a multilayered instrumental that constantly changes dynamic, keeping you captivated at every second. It’s energetic, vibrant and upbeat, while still being a beautiful showcase of Tamy Moyo’s vocal talent.
Cassanova draws inspiration for it’s name from Giacomo Casanova. A man regarded as history’s most famous lover. The Venetian (a citizen of Venice in present day Italy) was a womanizer of note. He was also a multifaceted man who was a romantic at heart. A scam artist and scofflaw, an alchemist, spy and church cleric.
Casanova wrote satires, fought duels, and escaped from prison more than once. The term Casanova has become a colloquial term for a womaniser, because of his life story.
Tamy Moyo sings about her own Casanova, who seems to be getting her all hot and bothered. It’s the quintessential feel good jam and quite the ear worm. It demands that you to get up and dance.

The track was released with crisp SIMDOC directed visuals in tow. Baba Harare is recruited as the video vixen, portraying Tamy’s Casanova and being the centrepiece of the colourful storytelling on display. The video is topped off by amazing choreography, done by Tamy Moyo herself and a few other dancers. It’s a visual art piece you want to see again and again.
