Finally, A Word on Socialite Jackie Ngarande’s Condition After the Balked Suicide Attempt

AS it turns out, Jackie T. Ngarande is “seeking professional care where she is being treated for depression, anxiety and also attending grief and loss therapy classes” — at least, that’s what her team is now saying days after the socialite’s foiled suicide attempt which she broadcasted on her official Facebook page last week.

On Wednesday, August 10, Ngarande took to Facebook to air that she has “been in a very abusive and toxic situation for the past 1 year,” and that she felt “like committing suicide.”

A few minutes after the message, literally five minutes, the award-winning commercial model and self-styled GBV activist beamed a trauma-inducing 24 mins 58 seconds long video in which she disturbingly cried uncontrollably in a quavering voice, saying that some people in her life were failing to forgive her.

She wanted to die and rest, so she said.

What followed the heart-wrenching video was social radio silence in which the socialite or her camp never said or posted a word about the nightmarish experience that left many of her fans pitiful.

A week later, we finally got to hear a word from the camp.

Today, the Ngarande camp, through their publicist Michael Shoko, announced that the model had sought professional care.

Here is the full statement:

On behalf of Miss Jackie Ngarande, we wish to update the public on her well-being.

Miss Ngarande would like to thank you heartily for the support you have given her through prayer, words of encouragement, visits, phone calls, text messages and the flowers that brightened up her days.

It is gestures like these which have helped give her strength to recover and cheer up.

Currently, Miss Ngarande is seeking professional care where she is being treated for depression, anxiety and also attending grief and loss therapy classes.

She still needs your prayers as she goes through this recovery journey and an update will be given in due course as she is determined to get better and resume her philanthropy work on this platform.

While the public seem to appreciate the update, concerns have been raised in some circles on why the statement falls short in addressing the mysterious claims of abuse and toxicity that the socialite made known in her posts, claims she claimed her very own brother was cognisant of.
