This particular artistry is at the heart of “Jaded,” the singer’s poignant return to R&B.
“Jaded” is Z’s reaction to a lover when he is intoxicated, an expression of how she understands that this is escapism fuelled by pain. A tale inspired by the singer’s real life experiences in a relationship.
The song is a collaboration of talents: Produced by the legendary Wichi1080 most popularly know for hits such as “In The Mood” by Priddy Ugly and “Juicy” by Rouge featuring Nadia Nakai, and Moozlie, the song features rapper Indigo Stella who has delivered tracks such as “Boss Up” and “Company” featuring Nasty C.
Z’s poignant expression is echoed by Indigo Stella’s verse, which has the rapper’s signature melodic rap style that flows seamlessly on the beat.
This song closely follows on and serves almost as a part 2 to TheLastletter’s first single “The Void,” released back in 2018, in which she compares her love to alcohol pleading with her partner to drink from her metaphorical cup instead. A trade of alcohol for an intoxicating love.
“I randomly decided to host a music camp and invited some of my most talented artist friends, Indigo Stella, Wichi 1080, Tobi from 59th, Prince Luwi, LD Beats, The FrlknFndlrs, and Juni Kobe, just to name a few,” shared the singer
“We gathered at the “La Fabrica” HQ, Home of producer duo Rashè and Tailored by Q and everyone showed up. For three days straight, it was pure creation: long sessions, real collaboration, and nonstop cooking… I was in a room with Wichi, eX the Artist, Indigo Stella and Rashè. Wichi laced the beat, and together we created this beautiful record.”
