Originally awarded a broadcasting license by the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) in November 2020, the Bulawayo based channel KeYona TV was originally planned to be launched in January 2021. But from the COVID-19 pandemic to technical issues, the launch was delayed repeatedly until now. This past weekend the channel finally went live with a launch event headlined by the gifted Makhadzi.

We are excited to announce that KeYona TV is now available on Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) with the TV station expected to start beaming on Azam TV Channel 398 next week. We are also elated to inform the nation and our valuable stakeholders that KeYona TV LIVE programming will commence on 17 December 2022 with a LIVE transmission of our Launch Concert set to be headlined by African powerhouse; Makhadzi ably supported by Clement Magwaza, Asaph and many more entertainers.

KeYona TV joins ZTN Prime and 3Ktv as the other channels to have been launched in recent times. While in total 3 more channels are expected to launch soon as the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) issued 6 licenses in 2020, breaking the monopoly of ZTV. The station is owned by the radio broadcasting company Fairtalk Communications (Private) Limited which is the parent company of Skyz Metro FM and Breeze FM. Fairtalk is partly owned by the Zimbabwe National Army.
