Bryan K has just premiered a heartfelt new version of the gospel favourite “Vane Hanya (Jesu Wedu)” featuring the students of Hillview Christian College aaaand the video is live on YouTube now! The release is part of his Voices of the School project that according Bryan K; puts kids at the centre of a message of hope in a world full of noise and uncertainty.
This continues Bryan’s move deeper into gospel over the last few years. As he put it, he wants his music to provide hope, and he believes gospel is a very effective way to do that.
“young voices carry a kind of purity and honesty that lands differently than an adult voice alone”
BRYAN K
The video itself is unassuming and deliberate. It’s simple in concept, vividly blue with high-contrast, vibrant colours. There are lots of candid campus moments: kids dancing, quick prayers before tests, and communal joy. Aerial shots give the visuals breath and perspective without ever feeling showy.

Production-wise the track is intentionally modest: the chorus doesn’t build to a stadium moment but instead gels in a way that gives you the quiet chills only a nostalgic song backed by sweet young vocals and Bryan’s signature riffs could give. The whole thing is clean with a playful little beat drop that has me believe that it will most certainly make its way mischieviously into a fair share of bhawa playlists. And why not? The content 100% gospel. The sound, a joyful, dancy bop that can gel into any euphoric moment.
This isn’t an attempt to reinvent anything really, it’s a warm, nostalgic offering that does exactly what it sets out to do: hand a familiar song to a new generation and give those kids a platform to be heard. If you need a small, sincere reminder of hope delivered by unexpected voices, this one lands.
