The Zimbabwe International Film Festival makes a return this year with a new look and format running from the 14th to the 17th of September 2022. In a newsletter, the team announced that this year’s theme is  #Reconnecting under a four-day programme.

Day 1 – Trade Day

A Showcase for Film Production Companies, Financial Institutions, Distributors and other value chain service providers. The festival will be a hive of activity with exhibition booths and stalls, meeting rooms, and presentations throughout the day.

Day 2 – Career Day

A day for all aspiring filmmakers and creatives to gather insights into what a career in Film looks like, with guidance from experts and opportunities to meet mentors and advisors from the local and international scene. Presentations will be made by speakers from a wide range of organisations, giving information, guidance and motivation to our emerging creatives.

Day 3 – Film Forum Day

An in-depth conversation on the development of the local film sector.
Bringing creatives, corporates and government departments into the same space, the festival hopes to facilitate discussions between the stakeholders about developing the film value chain in Zimbabwe.

Day 4 – Reel Kidz Fiesta

On the final day of the festival, the festival encourages the whole family to come out and indulge in activities lined up for the young (and the young at heart!).

In addition, there will be the usual screenings of quality films from local, regional and international filmmakers and production houses at the festival and venues across the country.

This year’s ZIFF programme looks promising. Here’s to #Reconnecting Zimbabwe’s FIlmmaking Community.
