The Intwasa Arts Festival ko Bulawayo is an annual spring celebration of Arts and Culture, hosted on the last week of Septemeber. This year the festival will curate 25 events in theatre, dance, music, visual art, literary arts and spoken word.
The Gold Diggers which was published in June this year is set in 2008 at the height of Zimbabwe’s economic demise. Featuring a group of passengers about to embark on a treacherous expedition to the City of Gold; this dangerous passage comes at a grave price for what they believe is a better life. Critics have described the story as one told with brave honesty and bold description.
The festival kicks off on the 25 -29 September with Umkhathi Theatre as they present a performance titled Bloom Bloom. The detailed Intwasa Festival koBulawayo Programme launches tomorrow.
