#BAAzw The Bulawayo Arts Awards Impress!

Let’s stop lying to each about Glitz ‘n’ Glamour! We all watched the inaugural Bulawayo Arts Awards #BAAzw and it was evident that it was filled with class from the beginning. For people with limited resources to pull off such a massive project, it takes a lot of creativity and commitment. Once they announced their intentions to host the awards, the organisers did not slow down. This team hosted a successful awards night which some established ones have failed to host. Learn!

They pulled all the stops with a red carpet worthy of royalty as the City of Kings and Queens flexed its arts prowess. Rappers in formal and others who looked like they just woke up and dashed to the awards( eita Mzoe7).  One fact was proved this night. Bulawayo people can really dress up! Sandra Ndebele looked dashing with a rather interesting hairdo.

However, there might have been glitches that occurred, the team had a successful night. Chronicle showed their support by providing people with a live stream on social media and we surely enjoyed it. It was a night of heartbreaks and one particular one caught our eyes. CalVin racked two awards from two nominations to regain his dominance in Bulawayo. To further cement this, the rapper announced on his Facebook Profile that he was dropping a new track titled Loxion. Interestingly the cover art shows him holding his #BAAzw awards. Swag!

In another interesting development. This year’s Mr Africa pageant Zimbabwean representative, Miyamiko Banda, who was nominated for the Oustanding Model Award lost out to Shadel Noble. We stumbled upon a really amazing picture he posted and the caption left us wondering!
