ZTA Sign Memorandums With African Airlines For Sanganai/Hlanganani Expo

Zimbabwe Tourism  Authority (ZTA) signed two contracts one with the Ethiopian Airlines and Air Zimbabwe following the Sanganai/ Hlanganani World Tourism Expo2019.
Ethiopian Airlines will be the international official carrier for the Expo while Air Zimbabwe officiates domestic flights.
This year’s edition of the annual tourism expo will be held in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZITF Grounds) from September 12 -14, 2019.
Over 280 buyers, exhibitors and media are expected to attend the expo.
Speaking on the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Ethiopian Country Manager, Mrs Wogayehu Terefe said, the Airline was already enjoying frequent flights into Zimbabwe.

“ET has offered heavily discounted fares for both business and economy class to international buyers, exhibitors and media travelling to Zimbabwe for the tourism expo,”  Terefe said.
“ET operates daily flights into Harare and flies five times a week to Victoria Falls since 2017. Ethiopia is one of the biggest connection hubs in Africa, linking over 120 destinations in the world. ET has been flying into Zimbabwe for over four decades.”

In southern Africa, Ethiopian Airlines flies to Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa and Namibia.
Air Zimbabwe Corporate Communications Officer Firstme Vitori said the airline was delighted with the collaboration.

“As Air Zimbabwe, we are excited to partner with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) once again as the official airline for the domestic travel for Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo 2019 as we continue to facilitate Tourism, Investment and Trade,” she said.
“All efforts have been put in place in order to ensure a smooth movement of buyers and exhibitors on our domestic routes Harare/Bulawayo/Victoria Falls/Harare.”

Pre and post tours will cover the whole of Zimbabwe and will give the buyers the first-hand experience of the tourist destinations and activities available for visitors to Zimbabwe.
Head of Corporate Affairs at ZTA Godfrey ‘Chief’ Koti revealed that some international buyers have already arrived in the country and have started pre-Sanganai/Hlanganani tours to major tourist attraction sites such as Nyanga, Gonarezhou and Victoria Falls.
Koti also said Zimbabwe was delighted to have partnerships of that magnitude as they encourage trade in the tourism sector.
