The Queen of Amapiano is coming home
Sha Sha is set to return home again this December as she headlines yet another Fiesta Fiesta music festival. The Queen of Amapiano will be performing at Alex Sports Club on Friday the 23rd of December and she’ll be supported by Tanto Wavie alongside DJs Chicknosis, Raydizz, Fujee, Storm, Madeherbelieve, Butler, Tinashe, MC Cut and the popular MC Tatts.
This is Sha Sha’s second headlining performance in Zimbabwe this year and after the drama with the Vic Falls Carnival earlier in the year, it seems the Queen now has the home fans firmly back in her corner. The performance comes on the back of her long awaited debut album I’M ALIVE. The 13 track project was released to high acclaim at the end of September and it had a host of high profile features that included DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and A-Reece among others.
The organisers of Fiesta Fiesta had announced an end to their Amapiano editions a few months ago but it seems they just can’t let the genre go. They had billed Sha Sha’s performance in September as the last of the sessions but jusy like the yanos themselves go, it seems it was just a break before an encore.
We want to introduce new concepts to keep our events exciting. This is why we have decided it was the right time to close the Amapiano chapter and start a new one.As we wanted the last edition to be a significant one and we looked at numerous options of headliners, but we ended up settling for Sha Sha who is known to be the Queen of Amapiano.
Established by Chuckie “DJ Chucknosis” Kofi-Teye Ayisha, Fiesta Fiesta is an outdoor event that has been running in Harare for over 4 years now. They’ve had pauses for various reasons like the Covid-19 pandemic within that period but the brains behind the event have always managed to bring it back. They host it once a month when it is running and it always features a long list of some of Zimbabwe’s most talented DJs.
