Zimbabwean reggae/dancehall artists Winky D and Nutty O are going to feature on the forthcoming Bob Marley Album, Africa Unite. This is alongside a line-up of other African music stars. The two artists are featured on the song “So Much Trouble in the World”
The album, Africa Unite, portrays two worlds colliding from a whole new generation of Afro-fused musicians reinterpreting Bob Marley’s classic songs. As the name suggests, unity is at the heart of the album, and that is without a doubt the focus. In addition to Nutty O and Winky D, the album features Rema, Tiwa Savage, Teni, Oxlade, Sarkodie, Ami Faku, Afro B, Patoranking and Ayar Starr.
A new lease of life will be breathed into selected classics by Afrobeats artists through their interpretation of Bob Marley’s greatest hits. There is no doubt that Bob’s discography has always permeated African societies, inspiring generations to come. Marley has profoundly impacted music. Something that cannot be denied. Countless contemporary musicians have acknowledged their admiration for the reggae pioneer. Artists including Nutty O, Winky D… [among others] reinterpret songs that are meaningful to the audience. It is clear that Bob Marley continues to have an influence and is still an inspiration to the artists we see today.
Africa Unite is currently available for pre-order but will be officially be released on the 4th of August, 2023.
