Zimbabwean actress Danai Gurira is set to light up screens in the upcoming heist film Here Comes The Flood. The star is set to be alongside Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Sean Harris, Moisés Arias, and Justin Kirk.
The Fernando Meirelles directed Netflix film will revolve around a bank guard, a teller, and a master thief who get caught in a deadly game of cons and double crosses.
Filming for the flic began in November 2025 and it is set to wrap up in January 2026. While nothing official has been announced, Here Comes The Flood is expected to be released in late 2026.
Best known for her portrayal of Wakandan warrior Okoye in the Black Panther films and other Marvel projects, and as Michonne in AMC’s The Walking Dead and spinoff The Ones Who Live, Gurira’s upcoming projects include Matchboxfrom Apple, Skydance and Mattel, and Amazon MGM’s The Thomas Crown Affair.
Gurira was recently in Zimbabwe for Almasi Collaborative Arts’ Africa Voices Now Festival, an event 13 years in the making that showcased new original African plays.
