Quick Tips for Instrumentalists Live Auditions
- All instrumentalists are required to attend a live audition and the audition will last no more than five minutes in length.
- All Musicians (except percussion) are required to prepare and perform a short piece of your own choice, without an accompanist.
- Choose a work, or section of a work, which addresses the following points:
1. Clearly, demonstrate your technical proficiency
2. Emphasise your musicianship in your skill
3. Perform contrasting musical material (Create your own sound)
- Knowledge of Music Theory basics is extremely an added advantage.
- The audition panel may elect to hear only one part of your piece or they may ask you to play ZimPraise songs, solos or arrangement, so know ZimPraise music well.
