The Serenade, an acoustic music experience with talented singer Tahle We Dzinza, is set for it’s first edition of the year this coming weekend at Alliance Française Harare.

Hosted 2-3 times a year, the event seeks to bring communities together through music. It is a very laid back experience that allows people the comfort to connect and network, while enjoying beautiful music.

The event this coming Saturday, will be The Serenade’s 8th edition. It was previously known as the “Let’s do good” concert. In addition to being a platform for experiencing good music and networking, The Serenade is also an event that champions different causes in the community.

One out of the 3 Serenade events each year is always dedicated to a cause, and this year a portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to Zimunya Primary School to help finish building their classroom blocks.

I’ve always said music is a ministry, it’s bigger than self and we chose what impact we make in our communities by how we channel our influence. I pray other creatives within sector catch onto that fire. Zimunya is a community that I’ve worked in as volunteer since I was 15. I am a granddaughter in that community and I’m a firm believer that if you want change to last you need to start in the places/ place that you have ties to.

The concert is set to start at 6:30 pm on Saturday the 1st of June, and standard tickets are selling for $15, with VIP tickets going for $20. Tickets are available at Alliance Française and via the Ticketbox website.

Tahle We Dzinza has graced stages like the Jacaranda Music Festival (Zimbabwe), Nyege Nyege Festival (Uganda), and HIFA (Zimbabwe) among others. The vocalist, performer, producer and songwriter, composes genre bending tracks that cross the continent and sometimes even the oceans in their sonic influences. In 2021 she won the Zimbabwe Music Award for Best Alternative Act.
