A wonderful welcome to you, dear readers of this platform. This is a brand-new business class for everyone with a creative or artistic mind and would want to incorporate business principles and techniques to his/her creative ventures.

What is Art & who is an Artist?

Before we get to the basics of ‘Art-preneurship’(art-related-business), we have to first define what is ‘Art’. In summary, let us agree that art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination in a diverse range of human activities, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

From this definition we learn that there is the involvement of creativity in every form of art, be it visual art, culinary art, and or today we even have more forms as technological systems are advancing.

Who is creating that art? Does it require any extra-ordinary wisdom or power to produce art?

These are some questions that may pop-up in our minds right now, and I want you to know that, first of all, yes! Anyone and everyone is an artist, just that maybe you have not been told before so you might not know that. Inside every human being, there is a “creative guy” who is always looking for a way of expressing himself/herself out.

Whenever you are doing even simple things like rearranging your wardrobe, or your utensils in the kitchen, that creative aspect of you is expressed out (subconsciously).

When you do your make-up and your hair, there are so much of styles, borrowed skills or fashions you have heard about or seen somewhere that you will try to express. That is all art.

Art and creativity are a natural ability that is inborn in everyone, the creator (God), gave the same creative power in himself to his own, look-alike creation; humans.

So in closing, I would say that everyone is an artist, only that some of us have not yet harnessed the creativity within us or we just somehow take it for granted. Now, this course is aimed at making you harness that creative side of you, embrace it and fuse it with simple business techniques and you will become what we call an ‘Art-preneur’ (we will talk more about that in the next lesson).

For now meditate on what you have learnt today, dig inside of you and find out what kind of artist you are. Ciao!
