One half of ‘The Hangout Duo‘, Donovan Faranando has been nominated for the Zimbabwe Excellence Awards under the Entertainment Personality of the year Award category. Donovan Faranando, a 24 year old Creative Entrepreneur co-founded The Hangout Duo, a company that is focused on showcasing rising talent, events, brands and people in Cape Town and Africa at large. Through it he has successfully collaborated with upcoming brands to produce events and content.
In a brief chat with Donovan he passionately referred to his new pet project called #IAmCreativeForAfrica.
“This campaign is not only about being discovered but it’s about helping people feel good about what they do creatively”, he said.
Inspired by the needs around him he also founded the Rosa Campaign which he named after his late mother, a Non-Profit that helps underprivileged children with school stationery every school term. A young man of many talents Donovan also contributes to ‘The Zimbabwe Sphere’ and ‘African Curators’. While he’s not doing Motivational speaking for youth organizations such as Youth Redemption.
Using criteria such as growth, innovation, ethics and sustainability as their criteria the Zimbabwe Excellence Awards aim to reward Zimbabweans living in South Africa for their contributions to South African communities as well as back at home. Winners will be announced live at the 2018 Zimbabwe Excellence Awards Ceremony, taking place on Saturday, 26th of May 2018 in Cape Town for their fourth annual presentation.
