Election seasons are a chance for citizens to express their collective will and confer legitimacy on governments. People should be given more space and decency to exercise their assembly and association rights.
If they are not, it fundamentally undercuts the legitimacy of the process and that calls into question the legitimacy of the regime itself.
Substantially, unfair practices during polls also irate the Higher Power above, and as omnipotent as he is, he ends up punishing the entire nation for such malfeasance, the latest prophecy of one revered seer from Bulawayo has revealed.
His name is Dr Prophet Blessing Chiza of the Eagle Life Assembly Church.
In a new video recorded during a church service last Sunday and broadcasted on the prophet’s official YouTube Channel, the man of God said if the offing general elections will not be credible, peaceful, free and fair, the Zimbabwean economy, which has been in doldrums for a while, will take yet another nosedive into mass indigence.
Prophet Chiza said that the Lord charged him to pray and fast for the nation to make sure that this turnabout to pennilessness never occurs.
He said, “And the Lord spoke to me very well that,”Can you fast and pray for one major thing: credible, free, fair, peaceful election.” I asked God, “Why are you making me to pray?” and the Lord said,”Listen to all the candidates that are competing. All of them are talking of a new Zimbabwe, a new era.
“It is very true,’ added the seer. “I want to bring a new Zimbabwe that would be very prosperous and I want to bring a serious turnaround to the economy of Zimbabwe.
“But there is a condition that is there which I want you to pray for: credible, peaceful, free and fair election, then the people of Zimbabwe shall see that Zimbabwe.”
Chiza, who said the election shall be a hotly contested one ever in the history Zimbabwe, thus, appealed to politicians contending for seats to maintain that there be a credible, peaceful, free and fair election in order to forestall this ‘impending divine retribution’ as it takes a toll on ordinary citizens.
“The Lord said to me, “If there is going to be a story that is not in these four words that I have spoken, Zimbabwe is going to have a turnaround. If there is no credible, peaceful, free and fair election, there will be a turnaround; 360° into poverty.
“There are three turnarounds coming. One, that would be a new Zimbabwe that is prosperous and another one that would be a new Zimbabwe that is worse than Mugabe‘s era.”
If the polls are wrongfully conducted, the man of cloth warned that people should brace up to leave behind the country as a worse Zimbabwe will blow heavy on them. But, if they are carried out properly, the prophet claimed he saw diaspora Zimbabweans trooping back to the country as the Lord assured him a positive turnaround of the economy.
“If there is no free and fair election in this country, I’m telling you, politicians don’t say I didn’t tell you, this country is going to be very difficult to run. It will be a desert. It will be isolated from the community of nations. It is not going to be integrated. We will be isolated. We will be an orphan.
“But God said today before this election let them sort their house in order, especially ZEC and the Chairperson of ZEC. Please with your team, for the sake of the people of Zimbabwe, can you make sure the there are free and fair election.”
This is not the first time the Bulawayo-based prophet has issued a word on Zimbabwe. Earlier in January, he predicted that the elections would be peaceful, also adding that Asian and European investors would flood the market and turn around the economy.
In one of his twenty-seven prophecies released on New Year’s Eve, Chiza said:
“I see peaceful handling of elections in 2018, but they shall be hotly contested. There will be serious contests albeit peaceful. There will be few political disturbances during the elections, but it will be peaceful… It will be of God and not of man… bodies will declare the elections as the most peaceful and fair.”
Chiza further said that Zimbabwe will be recognised by the European Union, United Nations, African Union, Commonwealth and powerful world economic organisations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank.
He said two major doors would open for Zimbabwe and they would bring economic transformation.
“One is in Asia and another one is in Europe. These two doors will practically open and they will cause the Zimbabwean people to smile,” he said.
In another prophecy, Chiza said President Mnangagwa could win the polls if he frequents churches.
“This 2018 elections season, God is saying to Mnangagwa, if he seriously wants to win these elections, he must he must continue visiting churches for favour and prayer so that he can win the elections, ‘as the church is the one I have given the ballot in the spirit’, by visiting churches, power shall be established. That is the condition, it is an if.”
