Religious leaders believe Zimbabwe is destined for prosperity if the people remain united, peaceful and God-fearing.
Church leaders concurred that many religious organisations underscored the need to support the government in its different initiatives including praying for the nation for peace to prevail ahead of the forthcoming harmonized elections slated for later this year.
This comes at a time when most Pentecostal/Evangelical sects are undergoing their annual 10 days prayers which are marked by intensive fasting.
Speaking to the ZBC News, Founder of Harvest Ministries Prophet Tawanda Blessing Bonderai said Zimbabwe has been remembered by God as witnessed by the new political dispensation.
Pastor Peter Dzane of Unity Apostolic Church International and Kingdom Prosperity Ministry’s leader Apostle Rodney Chipoyera said they are praying for the nation for it to retain its breadbasket status.
ZAOGA FIF also interceded for peace, unity, rains, great harvest, and praised God for the economic transition which will lead the country to an economic upswing.
Although he suffered severe backlash, Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries leader Prophet Walter Magaya on 31 December urged Zimbabweans to remain focused saying the country will overcome the prevailing economic challenges. He said the current challenges were not new since the country has once gone through a bad patch before, but managed to survive.
The prophet declared:
“Hope is there. There is always a way. You shall see. The same time next year I will be asking you what did I say? God will always create a way. Look at what happened in the past years. God created ways and we have survived over the past years.”
United Family International Church leader Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa also prophesied on the issue of overflow and abundance.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been on record saying the country is guaranteed of its freedom of worship hence churches are uniting for a common cause, to intercede for the development of Zimbabwe.
