Hip Hop sensation Sharky is set to celebrate one year since the release of his highly acclaimed debut album Soko Matemai by hosting a concert at popular creative hub, Moto Republik on the 24th of June. This celebration is set to chronicle the journey and successes of Sharky so far and also give an insight into the future.
This Multi Award winning album managed to give out hits like Dzoka, Pakaipa and Rusununguko. The Chitungwiza born rapper promises a show like no other, claiming an upgrade from what fans may have seen at Shoko 2016, Mosaic and the Toya Delazy Concert. “This show is an opportunity for me to celebrate with my fans who have supported me from the first single to the launch of the album. It’s an opportunity for me to show them how I appreciate them!”
At the beginning of the year, Sharky had claimed that he was not to drop any music this year much to the dismay of is fans. However he has featured on a few songs and managed to leave a mark in each instance. It will be interesting to see if this concert wont the launching pad of something new. Yes? No? We still keep our fingers crossed.
The event is scheduled to start at 4pm with cool selection of supporting acts. Dexter Baysiq, Italist, uBu and Coded will all get a chance to tear the stage up. As per norm at any hip hop event, deejays have been slotted to keep the crowd dancing. Sharky’s personal tour deejay DJ Krimz will be on the turntables. Also in the mix will be DJ Langton B and DJ MadeHerBelieve.
Tickets are already on sale for only US$5 and will also be available on the day with the addition of swipe facilities. Merchandise from Sharky’s ‘Monkey Bznz’ line will also be available on the day. We also hear that there will be special treats for the early birds.
