We love Mzoe 7 the Zimbabwean based Afrobeat rising star for a number of reasons; his quirky random catch phrases like ‘Mr. Gagagugu!’ His cleverly titled yet deeply lyriced singles like ‘Chihuta Republic’ and of course his humanitarian side with initiatives like ‘Keep A Child In School’ and now a Pool Tournament hosted in the Bulawayo High Density Suburb of Entumbane.
“I was challenged to game of Pool so im putting a team together…it’s going to be an awareness challenge against Drug Abuse and promoting Cleanliness. So I’m saying to my fellow brothers they must leave the corner and be involved in something constructive” explained Mzoe 7
The campaign came about during a photoshoot in the same area inspired by Mzoe 7’s hard background,
“…I’m branding Mzoe7 into a fresh African brand and Artist, the pictures say, it doesn’t matter what your background is you can still standout. The people around represent the community, growing with it …the road is the concrete jungle and the bricks are the problems we face but we step on them” shared Mzoe 7
Shot by Trust Maguta and Ngqa the photoshoot features various Bulawayo based personalities and creatives such Vocalist Joy Rukanzakanza, DJ Soulistiq and Teletubby a Poet and Social Commentator.
The Pool Tournament is dated for the 17 September in Entumbane, Bulawayo.
