Loosing, unhappy news, failure, and disappointment are inevitable parts of life, yet difficult and challenging to deal with. We all face moments when we don’t achieve our goals despite our best efforts.
There’s a disappointment in relationships, not getting the job you want, health issues, losing something such as a deal or job, children not being as motivated as we want them to be or far worse disappointments such as losing someone or something you love. The list is endless.
What do you do when life knocks you down and the happiness and success you dream of seem out of reach?
Well, Zimbabwe’s opposition party the MDC’s leader Pastor Advocate Nelson Chamisa, who lost in the July 2018 general election to eventual winner President Emmerson Mnangagwa albeit through a ConCourt ruling but refused to accept the defeat, late alone recognising Mnangagwa since then, has found a way to deal with his party’s election blow.
The 41 years old leader has introduced a Chaplain department in his newly appointed National Executive Council (NEC) in order to deal with election disappointments within the party and find a way forward, a report by 263chat established.
Addressing the media yesterday, the opposition leader said in order to move forward from the election upsets, a Chaplain’s department has been added and will look at in-house counselling sessions for those that lost or affected by violence
“We have introduced the Chaplin, basically our spiritual superintendent who deals with our issues, especially counselling. After elections, people get disappointed and they need counselling. In-house, they must be prayed for so that they are able to heal. If there is violence in the country, there has to be healing and also pray for those who are sick,” said the AFM cleric.
The latest move by the opposition leader comes as a shock to many as he has refused to recognise Mnangagwa’s election victory despite the Constitutional Court ruling that went against him on the grounds that he did not provide enough evidence to prove that there was rigging.
