Love After Loss: Gospel Songstress Pastor Olinda Enamoured Again!

All of us have romantic predicaments; widows (and widowers) seem to have even more. Should they actively search for another lover? And if they find another lover, while still loving their late spouse, how can these two lovers reside together in their hearts? For widows, is loving again worth the effort of having to adjust to another person? And is widowhood the proper time to fall in love again?

It appears that gospel songbird and Grace Life Covenant cleric, Pastor Olinda Marowa–Ziwenga, who lost her first husband Michael Mufaro Ziwenga in October 2017 might be tying the knot soon, and it is with sound engineer and her new husband, Mike Mapiya.

Reportedly, Pastor Olinda told NewsDay Life on Tuesday that Mapiya paid lobola to her family in Harare last month, and that they were yet to finalise the wedding date.

The musician said she would relocate to the United Kingdom where her new husband is based.

“He is into music but not as a singer. He does sound engineering,” she said. “Musically, he is very supportive, bringing in ideas on how to push the music ministry and more of a cheerleader,” said Olinda, as quoted by the Newsday.

She said the church she co-founded with her late husband Ziwenga in Gweru, Grace Life Covenant, would continue to run under the auspices of local pastors while she would focus on expanding it abroad.

In 2018, Pastor Olinda told the Hmetro that losing her spouse-cum-manager was difficult but God has been faithful to her. She said a lot had evolved with her since the death, but she was delighted that her in-laws made it easy for her to adjust to life, focus on her career and preserve the ministry afloat.

“It’s not easy losing a spouse. Things have changed but God has been faithful. I thank God for my in-laws for their support and understanding. They are supportive of my career as a musician and also the sustenance of the ministry in Gweru, it’s still running. They are there for me even with the children,” she said.

Olinda and Mufaro had two children together.

On Monday, Olinda shared pictures of herself with Mapiya, looking all boo’d up.
