The government of Zimbabwe, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, has thrown its support on the appointment of highflying Jesus Generation International Ministries founder Prophet Edd Branson as the Director/Commissioner African Cultural Diversity and Entrepreneurship Global Diplomatic Council and International Commission of Diplomacy.
Conferred by the Global Diplomatic Council headquartered at The Hague in The Netherlands, the appointment is made in light of his international commitment to advance humanity, peace and awareness to advance social development and stronger societies, civil liberties cultural diversity and religious freedom.
In his solidarity message, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Sibusiso Busi Moyo in absentia congratulated Dr Branson and said the commissioning was a blessing to Zimbabwe and Africa.
“I would love to congratulate Dr Prophet Edd Branson who’s the General Overseer of Jesus Generation International Ministries Zimbabwe and Edd Branson Foundation on being appointed Director/Commissioner African Cultural Diversity and Entrepreneurship by the Global Diplomatic Council.
The appointment is a blessing to the entire Zimbabwean people and the African continent at large. Such recognition on to one of us is a welcome development in telling the Zimbabwean story of excellence and international leadership as well as socio-economic developments narrative,” said the Minister.
He went further to emphasise the importance of people‘s diplomacy and citizen participation, saying the Zimbabwean people should pluck a leaf off the prophet‘s life book.
“Our message is also to encourage the role of people diplomacy, citizen’s participation and patriotism that Prophet Edd Branson has demonstrated, hence this recognition. We urge all citizens to emulate this dedication shown by Prophet Edd Branson in all our diversity,” added the Minister, as read by Mr Chivaura from the ministry‘s secretarial department.
Nodding his head to the appointment, Prophet Edd, affectionately called The Specialist by his legion of followers, said the appointment was a call to socially transform not only Africa but the diaspora.
“When I accepted this role, I heeded to a call which is the basis of transformational social change, not just on the continent of Africa and among Africans in the diaspora, but also in all other societies of the human race. I extract from the Bible the “mind of Christ”, displaying Christ’s life of excellence, humility and service to all. This is the pinnacle of my desire which should illuminate the resident ignorance in humanity – and start believing in ourselves – and start having self-confidence in our capabilities – and unleash our inherent greatness.
It is my humble gesture to share with my fellow citizens this new development. I am also pleased and humbled to note that I happen to become the first Zimbabwean citizen to be appointed to such a position of responsibility and accountability by the Global Diplomatic Council and the International Commission for Diplomacy to which I thank the Almighty God for the blessing,” said the prophet.
Dr Branson, who also happens to be the Ambassador of the World Habitat Ambassadors Foundation International (WHAF Int’l) went on to urge all Zimbabweans to unite and embrace each other regardless of their diversity.
“It is my humble plea to the people of Zimbabwe to embrace one another, despite our diverse backgrounds and divergent views, to embrace unity, love, peace and hard work. If we fail on this, we might short-change other citizens in not partaking in the full realisation of prosperity. On other cases, some would be left out in reaping and enjoying the fruits that are achieved through these God-given virtues.
It is against this background that I urge people – I call on all of us, to become representative citizens of a nation that is goal oriented and have a change that will be the offshoot of a new mindset.“
The Global Diplomatic Council (GDC) links diplomacy, business leaders, science’s leading minds and society’s front-runners on resolving mankind’s biggest challenges and studies the various diplomatic instruments available for this purpose, how they work and discuss the various factors that condition their operation and missions.
It also cultivates and manages a favourable world opinion toward a nation or state as its mandate of diplomacy generally refers to our process of communicating with foreign public officials in an attempt to bring about understanding for its nation’s ideas and ideals, its institutions and culture, as well as its national goals and current policies.
The appointment doesn’t come as a shock as Prophet Edd has been hands-on on the issues to do with diplomacy.
A young, dynamic and charismatic leader he is, the man of the cloth is also an outstanding entrepreneur, international speaker of note, life coach and mentors to many leaders of big businesses as well as leaders of nations.

Earlier this year, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarian and Philanthropic Leadership by the Global Academy for Psychological Sciences in Dubai. This was in recognition of his immense contribution to promoting love, peace and tolerance and serving humanity in his country, Africa and the world.
