Cynthia Mare dropped the video for her cheeky song, Ngoro earlier this week and its looking lit we might say. For those who are not familiar with the song you might have heard a vulgar rendition of it in High School, Harare Sports Club and especially the Dairiboard Rugby Festival.
This a fresh and edgy video and it brings out a fun side of the afro-fusion artist we never see oftenly. Clad in high heels and a jumpsuit complimented with some trendy shades, Cynthia rocks the musalad stereotype to the heavens. The concept of the video is that of a city girl visiting her rural area and she meets this guy, Tinashe who has his ox-drawn cart. Tinashe immediately professes his love for Cynthia and proposes to marry her but she tells him that she has to meet his family first. This leads to a series of hilarious scenes including a young msengabere at the end of the video.
John Cole a seasoned dance choreographer, rocked the Tinashe character and he added to this with some rural inspired dances. This is a very good video and a step in the right direction. The video really follows the storyline told by the track and the use of the ox drawn cart is a brave move. The crisp quality combined with the fresh presentation of Cynthia with a loud makeup and a edgy hairstyle really relates to the young market which is the large constituency of revelers who attend live shows these days. Thumbs up to Cynthia for the good effort!
