Celebrating the success of his debut album, Soko Matemai, he is hosting an anniversary celebration at Courtney Hotel in Harare, on the 24th of June. Soko, as he is popularly known, announced this via his management Monkey Bznz.
Soko Matemai was well received by Hip Hop heads in Zimbabwe. The African flavours in the tracks were appealing the masses. From the Afro-EDM Rova Ngoma to the punchline laced Shungu, Sharky clearly stated his intentions. It was a real body of work meant for music lovers. How often do you go through a whole Hip Hop album and not find a swear word? Well this was a first for us!
This year he has not been releasing any new music save for features. Howeveerr he has been consistently impressive in all his verses. From No No No with ASAPH and Dexterbaysiq, Mhondoro with Te3vo and Nigerian artist Lil Dizzie and a latest offering with Karma titled Munondivengerei. We are really begging for solo singles from this guy.
Supporting him at the event are upcoming artists, some of which who are under the Monkey Bznz stable. Acts like uBu, Dexterbaysiq, Clessie, Coded and many more will help Sharky celebrate his accomplishements. It looks like it will be a movie. When it comes to Sharky we don’t doubt that very much!
