Big Mhofu is back with his latest single, a track titled “IDOLATRY“. A no holds barred public service announcement that comes with the promise of more. IDOLATRY is seemingly a prelude to Asaph’s upcoming project “Feed the Streets”. It’s his “The Heart” moment. The song is packed full of ingenious lines, it has a smooth melody and phenomenal storytelling.

The track’s synopsis reads: This feels like the start of a new era for me. Life has been lived and Lessons have been learnt. I’m just excited I get to share my gift with everyone who loves the music I make. This is the start of a new season ASAPH AFRIKA SEASON!

Asaph is getting a lot of his chest and he’s coming for his Zimhiphop throne. In his own words, “They’re searching for the king in the tomb but he’s not there.” IDOLATRY offers up commentary on the Zimbabwean way of life, takes a moment to remember and touches on the public scrutiny of his deal with Def Jam.

IDOLATRY covers everything from A-Z. It has an introspective nature to it, while his cadence is calm and calculated. Asaph even slips in a clever line about Holy Ten and his sophomore album.

Def Jam announced and some see it as a bomb threat
It’s how we do it to the level, we ain’t left the burg yet
They worry about the contracts and the process
This life is long ain’t no telling where the journey takes you
I wish they knew my journey was bigger than the label
I wish they knew that I could never sell my soul for likes
I wish they knew there ain’t nothing holy about that risky life

IDOLATRY presents Asaph at his very best and it’s exciting to once again see him releasing new music.
