The South Africa based award winning Zimbabwean TV Producer/Director Monalisa Chisango recently added another impressive production under her belt. The show The Cook-A-Long was released a few days ago on Netflix’s streaming platform and in a social media post Chisango shared how honoured she was to have been part of the production.

In a few hours our show goes live on Netflix, I have so many mixed emotions, I never saw this day coming and I’m so grateful. Family, friends catch the cook-a-long on Netflix tomorrow. To the entire crew it was such an honour to work with you. The dedication this team had is actually beyond imagination. Thank you for coming together as a team and making things possible! Congratulations team, congratulations director Wesley Masilo Makgamatha, thank you for the opportunity to series produce a show close to your heart, well done.

Created by Wesley Masilo Makgamatha, The Cook-A-Long features host Patrick Seleka Jr. as he ventures across South Africa eating — and replicating — dishes prepared by celeb chefs using farm-fresh ingredients.

Before starting her own company Monzyice Creations, Monalisa Chisango worked for Rapid Blue where she produced several shows like Who Do you Think You Are?, SA’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, Blame it on Fame, The Voice Nigeria and The Voice South Africa among others, along with live broadcasts and corporate videos. In addition to being a Filmpreneur, Monalisa Chisango is a talent manager, life coach and  an author. In past interviews she has shared that she believes in growing the local film industry as it can be a significant contributor to the nation’s GDP.

I always say teamwork makes the dream work. I have been fortunate to work in an environment that allows you to grow and work on various shows. My co-producers in Zimbabwe have not had that opportunity. As a nation we need to support the film industry as it has loads of potential from job creation, to marketing the country as a film destination and bring in revenue.
