The Monkey Nuts Are All Funked Up For First Fridays

The National Gallery Of Zimbabwe’s refreshing concept titled ‘First Fridays’ juxtaposes the visual-audio creative experience. In plain English? Take an almost century old quiet exhibition space, add an alternative – highly experimental and loud Hip-Hop ensemble. Bring an audience that loves Music and enjoys Art and you’ll have ‘First Fridays’!

According to the Fashion Blog DSD (Diary of Smurf Dinkie Pictured with them above);

” The Monkey Nuts are collective from Harare, Zimbabwe.  The Collective is signed to leading British independent label Barely Breaking Even (BBE Music) in 2015, the label responsible for releasing music from international hip-hop acts such as J.Dilla, The Pharcyde, Jazzy Jeff and Will.I.Am. The Monkey Nuts released ‘Boombap Idiophonics’ in April 2015, a collaborative effort alongside French DJ and Producer DJ OIL from Marseille, France. The collective has performed live on various platforms and stages across the globe.”

These cool kids will be taking the First Fridays stage  third time tonight, an experience worth having.
The event begins at 6pm to 9pm at the NGZ in Harare. Admission is $5 with a swipe machine available for your convenience.
