Jah Prayzah recently launched his own music label Military Touch Movement (MTM) or should we call it ‘Tora Mari United’! Within a few days of signing some big names in the music industry, the label has already brewed a shocker. Military Touch Movement – have released a new track titled ‘Chekeche’, and we CAN guarantee you that it’s a banger!
Chekeche features all the new signees who include Ex Q, Nutty O, Andy Muridzo, Robyn, Tahle and the pioneer Jah Prayzah. It’s an upbeat,track with a house feel produced by Tamuka who was previously attached to Kenako Muzik. The vocals by the only lady in this bunch, Tahle are out of this world. Andy Muridzo is another gem who somewhat outshined the rest with well thought out lyrics and a witty rhyme scheme. We imagine Jah must feel some type of pressure already. However we cannot say the same for Ex Q ‘Papi’, who mumbled throughout his verse with weak lines which reminded us of his terrible job on ‘Alleluya’.
Jah Prayzah seems to have shifted his attention towards urbanizing his music. This is clear with his new attachment with house music which has grown since his collaboration with DJ Stavo and a pending project with Mafikozolo and DJ Maphorisa. This new sound is fresh and appealing to the regional market. A clever decision by his management after his MAMA win assured him of international stardom. Hints of new music from the stable in February have been dropped and anticipation is high. MTM has made its statement. It’s here to shake up the industry!
