Over the last few years the Zimbabwean podcast space has experienced a boom in both creators and consumers. So much so that in many regards podcasts are almost on par with traditional media. Whether you’re looking to be informed, entertained or you just need a laugh, the podcast space has something for you.
The conversations range from sports, to social commentary, to interviews and every in between. Here’s a list of the 5 podcasts we enjoyed most in 2025:
Hello, Hi with Gemma
In February of this year, Zimbabwe’s favourite songbird, Gemma Griffiths, announced a new branch to the content she creates; the Hello, Hi with Gemma podcast. The platform explores the intersection of art, identity, and innovation, while spotlighting the stories that often go untold. It offers up insightful conversation with the biggest personalities in the entertainment space and Gemma is an excellent host.
Black & Forth
If you’re looking for something hilarious, then Black & Forth is just the thing for you. The duo of King Kandoro & Munashe Chirisa sit down and discuss at length things they know nothing about. It’s a cauldron of current affairs and reflections on the entertainment space, with a list of amazing guests often joining the two.
The Denny J Show
“Unrehearsed & Uncensored,” this is the tagline of the Denny J Show. An urban lifestyle talkshow that engages personalities from all walks of life in an informal setup. They are not afraid of any topic and consistently dish out episodes with the who’s who in the Zimbabwean entertainment space. It’s witty and regularly crosses the line, but it’s not a line to them.
As Told By Us
If you’re a millennial or even just a Zimbabwean living in Zimbabwe, then As Told By Us has something you’ll enjoy. The weekly podcast features four professional millennials discuss living in Zimbabwe and the process of figuring life out through various topical issues. The quartet of Anesu, Chido, Amanda and Kuda is often chaotic and opinionated, yet reflective and insightful.
In This Economy?
Hosted by Kim Nyajeka, ‘In This Economy?’ explores how the the current economic environment is impacting the everyday lives of young people around the world. As the youth, the state of the country is a constant burden on our ambitions, and in this podcast Kim reflects on all the issues affecting us. It is informative and entertaining.
