Y2K: Harare’s Silhouette Sessions turns back the clock on the dance floor

Silhouette Sessions, a recent addition to Harare’s event scene, is set to turn back the clock on the dance floor with a special “Y2K” edition. The curated music experience  will be serving up 90s and 2000s R&B, Afrobeats, dancehall and hip hop.

Set for the 21st of February at Mara Mara Restaurant, this will be the event’s second ever edition. It’s debut in September was true to its mission of reigniting Harare’s dance floors and easily won the hearts of the city’s revellers. In a world where classism and displays of wealth rule the nightlife, Silhouette Sessions is a breath of fresh air that celebrates music and centres the dance floor.

The February edition will feature a DJ lineup of new age talent that includes XTC, Shaku Chanté, TAPIWA, Andile Brown, and Tvwvndv. As with its debut edition, fashion is going to be a big part of the night. Event organisers are encouraging playful and out of the box interpretations of the “Y2K” theme, something people truly embraced with the “Denim Affair” in September.

Tickets for the event are currently on sale via Flippin Tickets for $10, and will be $15 at the gate. The event will run from 4 pm to 10 pm, on Saturday 21 February at Mara Mara Restaurant.
