Zimbabwe’s favourite songbird Tamy Moyo, has been enjoying her time in the United States of America. The singer posted images of herself soaking in the Zimbabwean sculptures exhibit at Atlanta-Hartsfield Airport. She also recently revealed that she had the honour of meeting the Mayor of Atlanta.
Tamy Moyo was part of a delegation from the Zimbabwean Embassy and she got to express how important arts and culture are for the youth, as part of the conversation that was shared.
Wow! Overwhelmed with gratitude this morning. A big thank you to Zimbabwean Embassy and His Excellency Ambassador Chifamba for allowing me to be part of the delegation that met with the 61st Mayor of Atlanta Mr Andre Dickens at the beautiful Atlanta City Hall. It was inspiring to see both parties converse on the importance of pushing the youth forward through various economic empowerment initiatives and I am honored to have shed light on the importance of Arts and Culture too for young people and young Zimbabweans. Got to sing about how proud I am to be Zimbabwean too. Grateful for these things and more GOD. So here’s to championing talent and innovation.
Tamy Moyo had travelled to Atlanta for a performance at Euro Atlanta, alongside Charlie D.
In 2022 the singer had a fairly muted year for releases, following her album Bvudzijena which dropped in the later stages of 2021. Moyo was nominated for the Best Female Artist Award in Southern Africa at AFRIMA Awards and fans are expectant of new music in 2023.
