With the ink still fresh on a new music distribution deal with Ditto Music, Nutty O has hit the ground running. The dancehall singer’s debut release under his new label has a more than appropriate message for the moment.
“Jegera” sees the hitmaker joining forces with multi award winning artist Freeman HKD and the man of the moment Master H.
Earning it’s name from the Shona word meaning to hold on, the track is an anthem for the Zimbabwean hustle. It drives home the message that we should keep on keeping on, something that resonates with so many people. Nutty O described the song as being inspired by the dreams he has for his music.
I have a lot of things I seek to achieve with my music which include global dominance, impacting the masses globally, and taking the Zimbabwean unique flavour to the world. But sometimes, it doesn’t happen quickly when we want, hence the need to be persistent, persevere, and believe it will happen while we work still pushing one day at a time
Produced by the combined efforts of Angeo Pablo and Jusa Dementor, “Jegera” has an upbeat nature although the lyrics capture rather poignant emotions. The song has all the hallmarks of what we’ve come to know and love from Nutty O, while also showcasing the evolution of Zimbabwean dancehall by collaborators who represent different generations of the genre.
According to Nutty O’s manager, Diana Precious Nheera, they already had a working relationship with Ditto as their Digital Service Provider partner but their latest agreement is an upgrade to a higher level of support with the company providing record label services. This is set to see enhanced product (music) performance, increased reach and subsequently improved penetration into the different world territories for Nutty O’s music.
“Jegera” is available across all streaming platforms.
