Khalil Madovi has been named as one of TikTok’s Next Gen artists. A new program the platform launched, set to run from 2023 and beyond. The rapper announced the news via social media.

According to the TikTok website, Next Gen is a pioneering music program. It’ll be spotlighting 12 of the most exciting emerging UK Rap artists on the platform. Stepz, the UK’s most viewed artist of 2022, was named as the first featured artist.
TikTok Next Gen builds on the success of UK Rap on TikTok in recent years. Rap artists and sounds have been dominant and driving trends on and off the platform. Having launched the Oi TikTok rap show last year as well as the #Rap genre campaign, the genre is going from strength to strength and the platform is excited to see how 2023 shapes up for UK rap and hip-hop.
Revealed over a five week period, these 12 artists will be profiled as part of TikTok Next Gen series. They’ll be featured in the #Rap discover page. The central place to discover the best artists, culture, content and music from the world of UK rap. Fans on the platform can expect exciting new content, videos and behind-the-scenes footage.

With over 130 billion video views, #Rap has become the most popular genre on the platform. Propelled by incredible homegrown UK talent including Stormzy, Giggs, Digga D and Headie One. These artists have become icons to a new generation of grime, hip hop and street rap, and use TikTok to engage with fans, duet videos and preview new music.
Khalil Nathan-Kudzai Madovi is an actor, artist and musician. He played Josh Carter on the 4 O’Clock Club. In 2016 he released an Album/EP onto Soundcloud titled “Mello3” which stands for “magic exists lovers lose out”. He won a 2012 Children’s BAFTA award for Best Performer. The raanan recently released a single titled “Picadilly”.
