Fiesta Fiesta is once again bringing an amapiano explosion to the capital city with their April edition. The event is set to host amapiano hitmaker Focalistic on 17 April, the eve of Zimbabwe’s Independence Day. Although the 17th is a Monday, the festival is hoping to capture a crowd from those kicking off Independence Day celebrations early.

Focalistic is an MTV Awards nominated artist. He rose to prominence after releasing the hit song “Ke Star” which got a remix featuring Davido and Virgo Deep, that made it the first South African song to chart in the Billboard Top Triller Global charts. Born and raised in Pretoria, he was a footballer prior pursuing a music career. He released his debut studio album Sgubhu Ses Excellent in 2020, which was followed by President Ya Straata in 2021 and then Ghetto Gospel late last year.

The lead single from Focalistic’s last album Tabela Hape has been on high rotation and a standout from the project.

After kicking off the year with Musa Keys, Fiesta Fiesta last month celebrated 6 years of being in existence with a show headlined by Nkosazana Daughter.

Established by Chuckie “DJ Chucknosis” Kofi-Teye Ayisha, Fiesta Fiesta is an outdoor event that has been running in Harare for over 4 years now. They’ve had pauses for various reasons like the Covid-19 pandemic within that period but the brains behind the event have always managed to bring it back. They host it once a month when it is running and it always features a long list of some of Zimbabwe’s most talented DJs.

For most of 2022 the event called Alex Sports Club home but kicking off 2023 they switched to Longcheng Plaza’s Adult Park. The event has maintained standard tickets at $10 each with an early bird discount of $5.
