#DailyDevotion: The Power Of Confession

286 0

The Bible declares in Proverbs 18:20, that

“A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.”

A simple listen to the speech of a man serves as a sufficient indicator of the quality of life that said a man will live. It is an impossibility for a man to rise above the level of his confession, for whether he says “he can” or “he can’t,” either way he is correct.

It is high time, as believers, that we ought to begin to realise that the power of ‘life and death’ lies upon our tongues. When we begin to grasp this, we no longer look at those that are able to cause us physical harm as the only threats to our destiny, but we begin to see the danger and power of spoken words over our lives. A man that will make a financial investment in your life is a blessing, but the one that speaks good words over your life gives that which cannot be revoked.

Jacob, in conspiring with his mother, tricked his father into releasing a blessing and yet the blessing stuck. The blessing that young men of old sought from their fathers was simply spoken words.

Make it a point today that you surround yourself with people that speak blessings over your life. The statement “you can have whatsoever you confess” is by no means a rundown cliché, but the gospel truth. Simply put; salvation in itself is only a confession, and yet we have it.
