The actor was only 43 at her time of passing on. It is reported that the actor was epileptic but the family is still yet to ascertain the cause of her death and the family expressed how shocked they were at her passing on. In a statement to the media, spokesperson for the family and Sitshengisiwe’s sister described how they received no word from Sitshengisiwe for over a day and they eventually had to call the police to help them enter into her apartment.

“Sitshengisiwe was fit and ever bubbly from what I know best. I last spoke to her on Sunday when she said she was preparing for her exams at Women’s University in Africa where she was studying Sociology. On Monday, her phone went unanswered and we felt maybe she was writing her examinations. She stayed alone in an apartment behind Glen Lorne but we became suspicious on Tuesday. We were surprised to find her lying on her bed, dead. We are yet to ascertain the cause of her death. Her body has been taken for post mortem and we will only know the cause of her death afterward. She was epileptic but we can’t say that was the cause of her death.”

From the early 2000s, Sitshengisiwe started out as a screenwriter before venturing out and starring in several films & theatre plays while also venturing into dancing. She is survived by her daughter who is said to be in Poland.
