Submission is Ungodly!

Yes, you heard me. There are no typos loaded in that statement. I mean exactly what I am saying. Submission is ungodly my good people.

Every young woman in the African and Christian ( or any religion) society knows much on the subject of
submission. It’s something we all grow up being panel beaten into. A concept that is integrated into our beings from the very moment we step out of the womb.

Wives submit to your husbands
A message that is parroted at church, women’s conventions, and basically everywhere. And you know what I think it’s wrong. Absolutely wrong.

Anytime a woman has an opinion that differs from a man’s they bring up that scripture. Anytime a
woman has a strong personality that thrives through her outspokenness, they bring up that scripture.
Our mothers spank us for being defiant from the time we are little girls simply because we are reared to
be submissive wives.

We are taught not to contend with our husbands, not to be audacious, not to stand tall, to agree and
support our mates even when they’re making stupid decisions(which all men do), to serve them, to
speak with sweet little voices that pamper their egos, to act weak and feign helplessness at the prospect
of being without them(Hede!), to let them dictate how we dress, to pretend to like their mothers and
extended family members, to treat their egos and pride with kiddy gloves because they’re sensitive little princesses. If you’re a real man by the way a woman will naturally follow your lead. The problem is we have too many spoilt boys who were raised by women who encouraged their sense of entitlement.

Screw you! Screw you! And yes. Screw you.

Anything that creates situations where one group is oppressed and taken advantage of is heinous.
There is no love or kindness in that and last time I checked, Christianity was all about good vibes and
love.

I worship a God who is kind to women. A God who praises women over and over again in the Bible. And
yes while it’s there in the text I don’t need to remind you that there are many other things in the Bible we don’t comply with. And no I’m not inciting heathenism or lukewarm Christianity. But when it comes down to it, the most important thing is to live a life that you can be proud of, a life which you know is free of sin. And as long as you aren’t hurting other people or yourself for that matter then you’re good. I’ve met people who follow all the laws (including the ones in Leviticus) and are the meanest, most evil people in the world. The men who kidnapped and held girls like Jaycee Dugard and Elizabeth Smart as sex slaves even coated scripture. Slave masters coated scripture and they were biblically correct too!

And if God is someone who takes that kind of fakeness and elevates it above genuinity and love then
maybe I’d rather go to hell anyway. At least the company will be better.
