Winky D is gearing up for the release of his 10th studio album. A project fans have had to be patient for, as it is the Gafa’s first album in 3 years. Judging by the title of the album, whatever Winky D was searching for during those 3 years, he might have finally found it. He recently revealed the album title as “Eureka Eureka” on his socials. This title once again puts on display his love for famous figures in science. A love that can be traced back to his 2019 ballad “Area 51”.

On the song Winky D talked about the likes of Neil deGrasse Tyson, Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton and Steven Hawking. His latest album title Eureka Eureka, borrows an ancient Greek term that more or less means “I have discovered it”.

You did it for GOMBWE
You did it for NJEMA
Let’s do it again on the 31st of December for EUREKA EUREKA

The term was made famous by one the greatest scientists of the classical age, Archimedes. As the story goes, he ran naked through the streets of Syracuse shouting “Eureka!” after discovering the principle of buoyancy (We only hope Winky’s discovery didn’t have the same price). The story behind that event was that Archimedes was charged with proving that a new crown made for Hieron, the king of Syracuse, was not pure gold as the goldsmith had claimed.

In the album artwork revealed along with the title, a flickering light bulb is on display. This goes in with theme of the Eureka moment, which is also referred to as a light bulb moment. The album is set to be launched in Harare at the HICC, on the 31st of December. Advance tickets for the concert have already sold out and this has only served to raise expectations. Eureka Eureka will be Winky D’s first release since the single Happy Again last year.
