We’re thrilled at the launch of “The Crime Canvas,” a new True Crime podcast by Larry Kwirirayi that spotlights crimes in Zimbabwe. Yes, it might seem a bit dark to be excited about True Crime, but for fans of the genre, this one hits closer to home. Have you ever watched a True Crime show and thought, “That could never happen here”? Well, Kwirirayi is ready to challenge that notion.
After a year of covering crime stories sourced from the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) at 3-mob.com, Kwirirayi’s curiosity led to this immersive project. “The Crime Canvas” isn’t just about recounting crimes; it’s about diving deep into Zimbabwe’s most haunting cases.
Kwirirayi promises an engaging experience with immersive soundscapes that transport listeners to bustling markets or the haunting silence of tragic moments. Future episodes will feature re-enactments, contextual backstories, and expert interviews, giving listeners a comprehensive view of each case.
After listening to the first episode, I can confidently say the production value is up there. I felt as if I was right there at the Bottle Store where tragedy struck. It was Christmas Eve, and ….. wait, I don’t want to spoil anything, it’s good storytelling, and I’m eager to hear more.
For those intrigued, you can listen to the first episode right now on Afripods, Apple Podcast, Spotify, and more. Prepare to see the shadows of Zimbabwe’s most captivating crimes in a whole new light!
