Mkhaya Music Productions’ publicist, Kudakwashe Takundwa told the press that they hope to “showcase the beauty of the city through the video while also showing the artistes oneness and promoting their talent.”

“We keep it going forever never under the weather/ The motivation for a team to achieve a dream/ Carry the hope of a city this is the song I sing/ For real, City of Kings so you know the drill// The royalty is inside of me so you know how it feels/ Another bar, another brick so I gotta build/ And spread love to my gang as they are in the field,” raps Asaph on the song.

Vusa Mkhaya told Chronicle paper that he worked on the song in order to show the unity and resilience of artistes and citizens of Bulawayo. But most importantly, he wanted to unite the city’s artists.

“The inspiration came from uniting artists of all genres and ages. In these days of social media and technology, I believe we should take advantage and use these things to push and promote ourselves. As part of this initiative, the team at MGIZ (My Guy in Zimbabwe Publishing company) and I came up with an idea of producing a song that would celebrate Bulawayo and its resilience. That’s how Masiyephambili was born,” said Mkhaya.

With arias analyzed, symphonies scrutinized, and visuals penetrated, it’s an incredible song and video with a musical vision that knows no edges. It’s yet another attestation of Bulawayo creatives subverting expectations and pushing the creative envelope.
