This year the Fiesta Fiesta festival has been hosting Amapiano’s biggest names like they’re Thanos collecting infinity stones. The festival kicked off the year with Musa Keys, and since then they’ve given us Nkosazana Daughter, Focalistic, Sir Trill, Tyler ICU and they’re showing no sign of stopping.
This weekend the 2nd of September Fiesta Fiesta hosts the Ama2k Festival with renowned Amapiano DJ & producer Vigro Deep. The dexterous DJ born in the 2000s himself is the perfect fit for Fiesta Fiesta’s latest event. He is going to be supported by a selection of the finest local DJs in Chucknosis, Fujee, DJ Zulu, MC Cut, Madeherbelieve, and DJ Tinnz.
Vigro Deep broke onto the music scene at the young age of 17 with his debut album Baby Boy. He is widely considered as one of the Amapiano genre’s originators for his multiple production credits during the genre’s rise. He gained widespread recognition after the release of “Vula Vala” and he has had a multitude of hits since then.
Established by Chuckie “DJ Chucknosis” Kofi-Teye Ayisha, Fiesta Fiesta is an outdoor event that has been running in Harare for over 4 years now. They’ve had pauses for various reasons like the Covid-19 pandemic within that period but the brains behind the event have always managed to bring it back. They host it once a month when it is running and it always features a long list of some of Zimbabwe’s most talented DJs.
For most of 2022 the event called Alex Sports Club home but kicking off 2023 they switched to Longcheng Plaza’s Adult Park.
Standard tickets for this weekend’s edition are priced at $10 each with entry at the gate rising to $15 after 5 pm, and VIP tickets are going for $30. Advance tickets are currently on sale in Harare at Century Mall (Table G41), Kwame Mall (Shop 13), Hometown Restaurant (Pomona) and Thrift Fit (8 Seagrave, Mt Pleasant). The event will be running from 12 midday until 11:30 pm.
