Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni yesterday hosted Zimbabwe-born UK televangelist Prophet Uebert Angel at State House in Entebbe in a meeting where the founder of Spirit Embassy: The Good News Church promised to invest in tourism and the pharmaceutical industries in the East African country.

Prophet Angel was in Uganda on the invitation of Evangelical Truth Ministries founder Brother Ronnie Makabai.

According to State House, the televangelist and businessman showed interest in investing in Uganda’s tourism and pharmaceutical sectors and President Museveni acknowledged that his government will support the plans.

“Met Uebert Angel, a televangelist and businessman, who is founder of Spirit Embassy in the UK and Bro. Ronnie Makabai of ETM International Church here in Kampala. They indicated their interest to invest in tourism and pharmaceutical sectors. Government will support them”, President Museveni wrote on Twitter.

Prophet Angel, 40, is also the founder of The Angel Organisation which is the parent company for his other business interests.

Born Uebert Mudzanire and raised in Masvingo, Zimbabwe, he later moved to Manchester, England, where he studied finances at the University of Salford.

He founded the Spirit Embassy ministry in 2007 and in October 2015, it re-branded its name to the Spirit Embassy: The Good News Church.

The church ministry currently has 33 branches in 15 different countries in Europe and Africa.

He has also launched Miracle TV and Good News TV where he carries out regular speaking engagements and broadcasts programs on behalf of the Good News Church.

He is also the founder and president of Osborn Institute of Theology, an online Bible school which was launched in August 2012.

Prophet Angel is often credited for bringing the prophetic ministry to Zimbabwe and Southern Africa, inspiring a new breed of “prosperity gospel” preachers like Prophets Emmanuel Makandiwa, Walter Magaya and famous billionaire preacher Shepherd Bushiri who he spiritually fathered, among others.

On business adventures, he in the past has declared himself a “serial investor” who continues to expand his business portfolio with one new venture after another.

At various sermons in his Church, Prophet Angel keeps repeating the mantra that church leaders must not rely on offerings from their congregation but should rather start businesses that are capable of financing their churches and ministries.

In 2005 he founded the Club Millionaire Limited, described by Forbes Magazine as “providing services to the cash-rich but time-poor individuals around the globe.”

He is also the founder of The Millionaire Academy, a project that aims to mentor individuals on how to become successful businesspersons.
