Nash Holdings has announced the immediate shutdown of its entertainment operations under NashTV. This was revealed in a press statement posted by Tinashe Mutarisi.
“Although music was never a part of long term strategy, we have always valued our relationships with local artists.During the Covid-19 era, NashLockdown evolved into NashTV and we later supported several musicians with marketing, management and promotional services,” read the statement by Nash Holdings.
“We are proud to have contributed to the rise of artists such as Saintfloew, Nisha Ts, Raymer and Ninety6, just to mention a few, and strengthened Zimbabwe’s creative industry. We have communicated this transition to all artists previously under our care…”
Tinashe Mutarisi furthur stated that “I haven’t had much time to explain this properly I’m on my way to Masvingo for a funeral but I want to leave this message here. I believe I’ve done my part in the entertainment space. From the lockdown days to helping lift a few artists, we pushed as hard as we could, and I’m proud of the impact we made…”
From its inception around 2020, NashTV had grown from being a live broadcast to organising events, setting up a studio and establishing a record label. It was now one of the biggest organisations in the Zimbabwean entertainment space. It’s dissolution will leave a hole that won’t easily be filled.
