14 years after the first project, multi genre DJ and producer St.Emmo has dropped The Producer’s Album 2, a 14 track compilation that draws inspiration from the artist’s life.
The Producer’s Album 2 is an audience focused, highly collaborative project. It features Josh Meck, Carlo Music, Frank Mavhimira, Jah Prayzah, Gemma Griffiths, Sylent Nqo, Poptain and Jay Afrik.
“As a producer, I believe it’s important to be exploring different dynamics and sounds in our music industry. I like to collaborate with all kinds of artists, whether established, upcoming or in-between to get a full spectrum of our industry and push the music as far as I can.” – St.Emmo
The eclectic cast of collaborators is a perfect pairing for St.Emmo’s wealth of experience in music. The end result is an array of dynamic sounds that express an eco-centric concept of tending the earth.
This is led by the album’s concept, a bringing together of two of St.Emmo’s worlds, farming and music.
“Music is a feeling, you can listen to it and understand how different people relate through a feeling that they can’t express. The same thing is true of nature and being around natural things, there is a certain type of energy.” – St.Emmo
Taking from the principle and values of farming, St.Emmo uses the natural raw energy available to create a body of work that speaks to our responsibility to not only tend the soil but to tend our souls through music. The creative process has been filled with rich collaborative experiences that have taken the raw ideas and moulded them into unique music for a worldwide audience.
St.Emmo has had a musical journey that has crisscrossed the vibrant cultural tapestry of Southern Africa. His early exposure to diverse musical traditions has shaped his innovative approach to sound, and The Producer’s Album 2 is testament to this.
