The morning flower
Stirs not with the seductive arrows
Of the fresh Morrow
Not even the intimate caresses
Of morning airs will charm it
Out of its late slumber.
Yes she is the one
Who set my world ablaze
With new prospects
Every word of her
Every touch of her finger
A new blossom in my garden
Every breath of mine
That inhaled the scent of her presence
Fanning the red flames
Within the lovewhelmed corridors
Of my heart
Yet today the sun sets on her face
Even when the bright Morrow
Sends the entire landscape bubbling
With rejuvenation.
If this is what greets the eye
As the ecstatic Morrow’s Dawn
Sweeps across the land
What will dusk bring
To my unfortunate doorstep
Except bleeding poetry?
