The Listening Party, one of the Harare premier monthly arts event, is returning for it’s first edition of 2025 on the 21st of March, and it’s one for the women.

The special Crowns Up edition is going to have an all women lineup in celebration of International Women’s Day. A collaboration between Studio Moto (an independent studio run by Magamba Network) and Incubator ZW, the event will also serve as a launch for Studio Moto’s Forward Together EP.

Set for Moto Republik, the event once again promises an intimate experience with some of the most talented names on the music scene.

“We are very excited as Incubator to be partnering with Studio Moto for the first time, to have a Listening Party for Women’s Month. This edition will serve as a launch for Studio Moto’s all women album and the audience will get to listen to it as a whole. As an event founded by women it is especially close to our hearts to be honouring Women’s Month in this way,” Vera Chisvo shared with Enthuse.

Since its inception in 2019, The Listening Party has provided a platform for artists to connect with their audience on a deeper level. The March lineup will have musical styles ranging from hip-hop and poetry to Afrofusion and dancehall: Bhanshee, Millz Million, Bad Gyal Vee Tee, Lindi, Danai Clay and Paekayna.

“A woman’s purpose is not defined by the constraints of set expectations, but by the depths of her inner self. It is imperative that she rises in her truth, unapologetically finding strength and grace in this world, for the benefit of future generations,” Bhanshee shared on being part of the Studio Moto project.

“Being a part of this project has been such a blessing, and I truly pray that it positively impacts other women, empowering them to remain true to themselves and find strength in camaraderie.”

The Listening Party is one of the flagship projects of the Incubator ZW, an online creative hub that creates a space for young creatives to co-create. The music centred event seeks to promote performing artists by giving them a space to safely and freely perform, express themselves and connect with audiences.

This year the event aims to go acoustic, in hopes of delivering the live music experience to audiences.
