The Castle Tankard, Africa’s oldest sponsored horse race, will return for it’s 65th edition on May 11, 2025 at Borrowdale Racecourse. Themed “The Legacy Continues,” the race will see 16 horses vying for the $50,000 prize.
“Our theme for this year celebrates Castle Lager’s long-standing sponsorship of the Tankard, which is more than just a partnership; it is a commitment to keeping the spirit of horse racing alive in Zimbabwe,” shared Kundai Mawema, Castle Lager Zimbabwe’s Marketing Manager, at the final acceptance for the race.
The sporting event, which draws as much for the race as it does for music performances, will see Aleck Macheso, Enzo Ishall, Oriyano, Chillspot, Nisha Ts and Delroy Shewe hitting the stage.
