The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), one of the continent’s premier award platforms, will be making their return this year from 25 to 30 November in Lagos, Nigeria. This will be the award shows first edition in over 2 years.
Nominated for the 2025 edition are 4 Zimbabwean artists: SA based rapper Hanna and the Queen Of Amapiano Sha Sha are both in the running for Best Female Artiste in Southern Africa, while Annatoria is nominated for Best African Act in Diaspora Female, and Jah Prayzah has twice the honours with nominations for Best Male Artiste in African Inspirational Music and Best Male Artiste in Southern Africa.
This year the awards drew a record 10 717 entries, the highest since the event was launched 12 years ago. 343 nominees across 40 categories covering Africa’s five regions and the diaspora.
