Tanyaradzwa “Tanya” Fear has released a public statement for the first time since she went missing for several days in early September. The actor & comedian thanked fans and the public at large for their concern and assistance in the search for her and she reiterated that she was safe & doing well. Tanya also thanked the police officers who found her and she spoke in a part about her mental health struggles.
The statement from Tanya read:
“Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for your love, care and concern a few weeks ago. It really means so much to me. I’ve been dealing with some mental health struggles and right now I’m focused on my health, well being and returning to being creative. I am so unbelievably fortunate that when I was in a tough spot, some guardian angels went out of their way, saw my vulnerability and protected me. Thank you Officer Talman and Officer Goodman from the Hollywood division.
So many of us have had challenges over the last couple of years and I am unbelievably grateful to my support system for walking with me through it all. Let’s not fear being honest about our mental health challenges. Thank you for the love. Let’s take care of each other. Tanya X”
Tanya Fear went missing on September 9 and was only found by the LA police department on September 13. The family had initially announced plans to apply for visas to travel to the US to start their own search party on the ground. However 48 hours after Tanya’s family had launched the Twitter account “@FindTanyaFear”, the LA police department confirmed that she had been found. The family statement after confirming Tanya was safely said:
“We are extremely grateful to every single member of the public who helped in finding her. We couldn’t have done it without you. We understand she is not physically harmed, but as a precaution, is being assessed at a local hospital”
Tanyaradzwa “Tanya” Fear has appeared in Dr. Who, TV’s Spotless, Endeavour, DCI Banks, and Midsomer Murders. She has also been in the movie Kick-Ass 2 and had recently started doing stand-up comedy.
